Worst Foods To Have
Unfortunately, some times the food you think is yummy and tempting is worst for your health.
But did you know how bad these foods are?

When we mention soft drinks, pizza. burgers, french fries, etc, we know they are high in calories and offer no nutrition benefits.
So if you can justify eating them by spending 30 mins more in the gym, then you are NOT on the right track.
These foods are the worst and destroy your health way beyond adding calories to your diet. More you know how bad these foods are, the more you will be conscious of them and you will start taking steps towards eliminating them from your diet.
Soft Drinks:
Soft drinks consumption has increased worldwide in the past two-three decades. Their effects on health are unclear, although studies pointed toward its associations with obesity, kidney, liver diseases, and osteoporosis. According to some research, these fizzy drinks may uplift your mood and satisfy your thirst but, they correspondingly play a role in hampering and impacting the normal physiological functioning of the brain. The main component in carbonated soft drinks is caffeine which triggers the excitation of the reticular system within the brain. Excess excitation of the system leads to insomnia.
According to this study, soft drinks contribute 7.1% of total energy intake and represent the largest single food source of calories in the diet. Furthermore, the rise of obesity and type-2 diabetes parallels the increase in sugar-sweetened soft drink consumption.
This is not surprising that just one CAN of coke/Pepsi contains about 40 grams of sugar including high corn fructose sugar. This is equivalent to 10 teaspoons of sugar. To combat the sugar, your body releases lots of insulin which is a fat-storage hormone.
Over time, this results in you becoming insulin resistant which ultimately leads to type-2 diabetes.
Also, don’t forget the high corn fructose sugar, which is made from genetically modified corn. Fructose can only be metabolized by your liver and combined with corn, which can lead to a fatty liver.
Besides sugar and HCFS these soft drinks have artificial sweeteners like aspartame, sucralose which can have a very harmful effect on your body. Use natural sweeteners.
Healthier Alternatives: Green tea, herbal tea, buttermilk, vegetable juice, lemonade(Indian shikanjavi)
Chips/French Fries:
The next absolutely worst food that you can eat is chips and french fries. Chips contain trans-fat which is the worst kind of fat you can eat.
Trans-fats are created when hydrogen molecules are added to vegetable oils.
This converts these oils from a liquid to a solid. Trans-fats are added to chips and hundreds of other processed food items found in the supermarket as they increase shelf life and taste better. Trans fats are associated with an increase in the risk of chronic heart disease.
French fries are no different and are made from potatoes which are fried in vegetable oils like soy and corn oil. These polyunsaturated fats turn rancid when heated at high temperatures. These oils can create aging, inflammation, and weight gain, especially around your belly area.
So it’s better to have Home Made Sweet Potato Fries made in coconut oil. Or homemade potato fries in desi ghee for kids
Donuts/Muffins:
This category of foods like doughnuts, muffins, cookies, are made from white flour, are loaded with sugar and trans-fats. They are very high in calories and offer no nutritive value of any sort. Over time, these foods cause you to become insulin resistant which then ultimately leads to type-2 diabetes.
The point here is that processed foods such as bread, pasta, salad oil, mayonnaise, doughnuts, cookies, rice cakes, breakfast bars, chips, soda, candy, and popcorn do not contain a significant micronutrient benefit. neither one contains the necessary amounts of micronutrients, especially the antioxidants and phytochemicals only found in plants.
So it’s better to have: Homemade sweets made from natural jaggery
Pizzas:
Pizzas are bad. They are made from refined white flour and processed meats. They are extremely high in calories. One medium slice can give you at least a few hundred calories.
Let’s compare 200 calories of white bread to 200 calories of beans. The white bread would be metabolized into simple sugars (glucose) which enter the bloodstream in 5 to 10 minutes. This requires a rapid increase in insulin, and the rapid insulin response will remain for hours. On the other hand, the carbohydrates from beans will take much more time to be digested and, as a result, these calories enter the bloodstream slowly. Essentially, the calories will trickle in over hours. When eating beans, a small amount of glucose enters the blood each minute and therefore you won’t need much of an insulin response to deal with this amount of sugar.
So it’s better to have: Homemade pizza made from whole-wheat flour with organic vegetables or just a yummy taco salad!!
Vegetable Oils:
Conventional wisdom portrays vegetable oils like sunflower, soy oils, etc as healthy. But that’s far from the truth. In reality, they are highly processed and can cause inflammation, and are linked to an increased risk of cancers.
Healthier Alternative: Cold pressed coconut oils, pure ghee.
The nutritional fundamentals accepted by the World Health Organization and most nutritional authorities today include vegetables, beans, nuts, seeds, and fruit as healthy foods; and salt, saturated fat, and excess sugar as disease-causing.
Any foods which are fried, made from vegetable oils, have added sugars, trans-fats, white flour, or any other refined carbs need to be completed avoided. Instead, choose the healthier alternatives.
