A recipe for a delicious green dal protein chillha.
Green Moong Beans has a low glycemic index, rich in fiber, and high in protein, and these properties help to regulate blood sugar for diabetics. In addition, Green moong dal is high in nutrients like manganese, potassium, magnesium, folate, copper, zinc, and various B vitamins which are important for various building blocks of our body.
Ingredients
- 1cup Whole Green dal
- 1/2cup Moong chilka(split Green gram)
- ¼ cup masoor dal(split red lentil)
- 1Big potato( Grated)
- Coriander leaves chopped
- 3-4 green chilies
- Small piece of Ginger(grated)
- Roasted cumin seeds
- A pinch of turmeric
- Dry coriander powder
- ¼ tsp black powder powder
- Ghee for cooking
- Salt to taste
For Stuffing
- 1 cup Cottage paneer
- 1 tsp pumpkin seeds
- 1 Finely chopped onion
- Chopped green chilies and coriander leaves
- Salt and pepper to taste
How to prepare
- Soak green moong, moong chilka, and split masoor dal together for 4-5 hours in warm water.
- Then drain the water using a grinder, coarsely grind all the dals with very little water to make a thick batter…
- Once done, remove batter into a mixing bowl, add other ingredients like Grated potato, coriander leaves, green chilies, ginger, salt, black pepper powder, turmeric coriander powder. Mix everything well.
- The batter should be thick pouring consistency. Check the salt and adjust to suit according to taste.
- Place a Tawa on medium heat, add two heaped tablespoons of the green protein chilla batter to the Tawa.
- Quickly spread it using the back of a spoon and protein chilla cook for a minute or two or till the bottom of the chilla turns golden brown. Flip green protein chilla and cook another side of the chilla too.
- Put the paneer stuffing in the center of the pancake and roll the chilla.
